Girls Varsity Swimming · Girls Swimming Finishes 5th Place at State Meet

On Saturday, October 10, your James Island Trojan Girls Swim team finished out the season like straight beasts. It was an amazing way to cap off a strong and interesting season. With a 5th place finish out of 28 teams JICHS Girls Swim Team has made a strong name for ourselves statewide. It was a total team effort meaning everyone contributed by scoring points. We swam and looked amazing in the water. Eastside, from Greenville area, finished 1st followed by Hilton Head, Lucy Beckham, May River, and YOUR TROJANS. An amazing stat, 2nd place – 5th place are all in the same district. Julia Beebe topped off a great swimming career for the Trojans with a top 10 in the 200-yard freestyle. Her time of 2:01.88 was good enough for 8th place. Emma Durham, a student at Camp Road Middle, finished 5th place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.95. James Island will be graduating 7 seniors which were a huge part of the team. They will leave a strong foundation for an up and coming Trojan Swim Team. If you know a member of the JICHS Girls Swim team tell them they made the school proud.
