Trojans out-hit Wando Warriors five to four, but it wasn’t enough in a 9-1 loss on Tuesday
The Trojans struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Wando Warriors, giving up nine runs.
Trojans opened up scoring in the first inning, when Julius Reynolds singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Wando Warriors pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Manale doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Salamy reached on a dropped third strike.
Wando Warriors scored five runs in the seventh inning. Hill, #16, and C Garris each had RBIs in the frame.
Whitmer was the winning pitcher for Wando Warriors. Whitmer surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.
Hogan Garner took the loss for Trojans. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on three hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Reynolds, Hayes Snow, Garner, Keillor Osbon, and Ayrton Leichner each collected one hit to lead Trojans.
